Welcome to Paleo Park
Paleo Park is located in Northeastern Wyoming, just 150 miles from Rapid City, South Dakota on the western edge of the beautiful and famous Black Hills. Set in nature's palace, PALEO PARK is 25 miles off Highway 85 and 60 miles from the nearest town! We are not your ordinary "Park". You won't find BBQ grills and RV hook ups here! This park is open land with an occasional dinosaur bone peaking out of the ground.
Imagine the excitement and awe as you excavate and are the first to touch a 65 million year old bone! Numerous dinosaurs have already been found at PALEO PARK.
They include:
Pachycephalosaurus
Triceratops
Tyrannosaurus Rex
Edmontosaurus
Fossils have been excavated on the ranch for over 100 years. One of the biggest finds was a Triceratops, with partial skin impressions on it. Also at PALEO PARK is a dinosaur track way, skin impressions, bird tracks, raindrop imprints, and tail drags let your imagination wonder back 65 million years. With the hot Wyoming sun beating down upon you, a visitor can almost feel what the land would had been like when the dinosaurs roamed.
At PALEO PARK visitors can have some classroom time or just a visit to the field. In the classroom you will learn how to identify bones, excavating techniques, field safety and many other useful tips for the "Fossil Hunter." With only a little preparation, hunting dinosaurs becomes a grand adventure suitable for the entire family.
After a full day of "digging" for fossils, the fun still goes on. Try your hand at our new 3 hole pasture golf course, "dinosaur style". Be sure to bring a hearty appetite for our authentic ranch cuisine. At the end of the day when the bones have been dug, golf balls have been shot, and your belly is full, kick back outside under our incredible star-filled sky. The view of the Milky Way under Wyoming skies will take your breathe away. At PALEO PARK the Big Dipper and the North Star will beckon you back year after year.
